EXPERIENCE DESIGN — 2212

Experience Design covers a wide range of technologies, from projection mapping, to DMX Lighting, to touch sensors. Students are given ten projects throughout the semester that they must design and build experiences for, which utilize these technologies, allowing students to learn many new skills. The main project is “The Curse,” an escape room-like experience set for the Tomb, which has students create the narrative and puzzles of their experience, leveraging the Tomb’s sensor walls and floor.

AR DRONE — 2305

The team focused on creating an experience spearheading the technology of Augmented Reality with drone applications, giving guests a unique trip of blending virtual and physical elements from a bird’s eye view. Our experimental experience includes a simple gameplay of retrieving a treasure from a shrine while dodging/shooting down three-eyed monkeys.

DARK RIDE — 2306

Dark Ride Design is intended to give Location Based Entertainment (LBE) students knowledge and experience within the realm of designing a dark ride experience. The class explores the use of a guided vehicle upon a motion base to travel through a themed journey displayed on a 180 degree projection space and utilizing triggered sound, lighting, and 4D effects to augment the experience.
